Quilt Jr. was started by Martha and Alma when their grandchildren became old enough to start sewing. They realized how important it was to pass on the skills and love of quilting they had learned from their mothers and grandmothers to their own children and grandchildren.
Alma currently teaches quilting classes once a week at the local library. Martha spends her spare time sewing for various charity organizations such as the Humane Society.
